Rat dissection

My goal is to dissect the rat within the next week or two. We still need students to bring in latex gloves and/or paper towels. Dissecting is agreat way to learn about the anatomy of various animals to learn ways in which we are similar and different. I hope you are as eager as I am to get started.

Children's Anatomy Book due Tuesday 9-06-11

Your children's anatomy books are due on tuesday 9-06-11. Make sure you have covered at least 10 systems. For each system you should list all the major stuctures in that system. Describe the purpose or function of the system. You should also include some interesting facts about each organ system. Your book should also desribe what homeostasis and how it works in the body.

Your audience is middle school students have a theme or story line that would interest them and keep their attention. Keep the balance between informing your audience about the human body and at the same time make it engaging so that others will want to read it. Be creative have fun and make something worth reading. 

Anatomy Test 9-02-11

Friday will be our first unit test. The test will be a combination of multiple choice, fill in the blank and essay. The essay will be on homeostasis. Be able to define homeostasis describe how it works and give examples of how homeostasis regulates various body functions like temperature regulation and our blood pressure.
