Kell's own "Iron Chef Challenge" will take place on April 13th - 14th in the Culinary Arts I classes during 1st and 2nd blocks. Students will work in groups to plan and execute a challenge featuring a "mystery ingredient". Their dishes including procedure, taste, and plating will be judged by guests who will determine the group who are "Top Chefs"!!
Culinary I classes will also compete in our first annual "Cupcake Wars" during the week of May 9 - 12.
Seniors will participate in "Senior Interviews" - a job interview simulation - with invaluable assistance from "MANPOWER", who visit annually to give students job preparation and interview skills. Professionals from industry interview seniors and "hire" those who are succesful at presenting themselves and provide suggestion for improvement for those not "hired" . This is a wonderful "learning experience" for our seniors and great preparation for being "job ready"! Manpower visits Monday, April 18th. Interviews will be scheduled during Culinary Classes in May.
Culinary Arts Seniors who have completed all 3 classes in the Culinary Arts Pathway will participate in an "end of pathway" assessment through the State of Georgia. Certificates of Completion will be issued to those who successfully pass the assessment on April 28th.
