Trying to find the interesting in the ordinary requires looking at things in a new way. In class we are looking at plants. Students will complete three thumbnail drawings of plants using a viewfinder. The goal is to zoom in and draw a great composition! Once the chosen thumbnail sketch is chosen, students will begin working on thier final drawing on colored paper. After the drawing is complete, students will begin painting their subject and background in contrasting colors. Make sure to not paint over your pencil lines. After you have painted 7 layers of paint, we will paint a layer of india ink over your entire painting. After the ink has dried, we will take off the india ink to reveal the layers of paint underneath.
