The entire Science dept. is encouraged to remind you of our hours for tutorial. As you know, I'm always here M-W-F mornings by 7:30. Afternoons, it's T-Th.
On Wed and Thurs we'll be doing a lab. However, that shouldn't take the whole period, so bring 5 problems from the xeroxed worksheets and any homework out of the Red book. I'll be helping you with the skills you'll need for our next test.
In case you misplaced your tiered assignment, here it is again. Though you have some choices here, I would be trying to finish up the problems on circular motion and gravitation by Wed, Nov. 18. Download Stairway to the Stars
That's right, boys and girls. The test on Wed will cover Ch 7 and 8 on Starlight and the Sun. That would mean Atoms, Emission spectrums, Absorption, Balmer series, etc. Blackbody Laws and temperature of stars. Parts of the Sun's structure and the stages of a star's life. Probably your best bet is to study the chapters, the chapter summaries, the vocabulary and your notes.
On Monday we'll have the presentations on stages of a star's life. Those students who missed the opportunity to do this research last Monday in class (Nick, Chris, Jake, Krystal, Dallas, Kayla, and Travis) can instead do a 5 paragraph paper on the 7 stages of a star's life -due Monday.
All students should start reviewing the chapter on Starlight and the one on the Sun in the book. If you weren't the one answering all the questions during our Jeopardy game, you need to get studying.
This is the time for you to really pull your project together. See me if you don't know what is expected. The rubrics were posted here when we started momentum.
Here's a simple checklist to help you see if you're ontrack. I'll expect it completed when you turn in your Projects Nov.16 or 17.Download Checklist
