You will find many important and useful bits of info here weekly. Please check for assignments, due dates, test dates and educational links to facilitate the learning process this semester!
This semester we will be covering English Literature beginning with the Anglo-Saxon Period through the post-modern period. Yes, this is the class in which you will read Beowulf, Canterbury Tales, Macbeth, Paradise Lost, Gulliver's Travels, Pride and Prejudice, and 1984.
World Lit students will study World Lit beginning with Ancient Origins and Traditions through Contemporary Lit. We will be reading and possibly viewing Gilgamesh, Sundiata, The Rubaiyat, Oedipus Rex. Othello, The Divine Comedy(The Inferno), The Metamorphosis and more.

Every other Friday we will have a vocabulary test from the Sadlier-Oxford series(E =10th; G= 12th) A good link for practice before the test is www.vocabularyworkshop.com I also give extra credit on each test if you turn in flash cards or a study device for that unit!
In addition to the course content, we will also practice test taking skills for the GHSGT and the SAT/ACT. Good links to practice for these tests are www.USATestprep.com and www.SATonline.com (You may need passwords; check with me.)

I am available for study sessions and or makeup work every Monday,Thursday, and Friday until 4:00. If you have work to make up or need extra help with some assignments, this is your opportunity for individual help! Reassessments for failures(unit test and essays) can be completed during this time for a maximum grade of 70% Please contact me to set up an appointment. See you then!
