AP Intro to Unit IV Reading - 10/25/11

You are to be DONE with this prior to entereing class.

The reading linked below has been divided up in the following manner;

EVERYONE should read the intro to this group of documents(pg 126 - 128) - Mostly and intro w summary info and questions.

Part I: (very bottom pg 128 - top of 132) Islam's view of women

Part II: (bottom of 132 - middle of 135) Byzantine Empire's view of women

Part III: (middle of 135 - 138) Western European view of women

You are only responsible for the section of the reading assigned to you.

We will JIGSAW this activity for 10 - 15 minutes (you will share what you read)

After our JIGSAW, we will have a discussion on the topic.

Before you roll your eyes and say "Oh no, here he goes again," I just want to tell you what is going on next to me.

 

I am getting ready to tutor at Caribou Coffee. It's 6:00 and there are three students who are studying AP Psychology. They have created a designated time and place to create academic success!

It is a PRIORITY to them!

And guess what, they actually are having a good time.

 

AND!!! They are talking about Extrinsic vs Intrinsic motivation.

So what's your motivation? Are you motivated by the grade or by the learning? I bet the later (pronounced like ladder w a t sound FYI). However, if you are motivated to learn, guess what....

Yeah...

You guessed it...

You learn and get good grades!

PS - Trying not to eves drop but they are next to me. NOW they are even PREDICTING what the questions will be, redirecting each other to focus, and getting it done! Now they're back on track and talking about Maslow!
