Write on your paper your score for Concern for People and Conern for Task.
A high score on "Concern for People" suggests that your leadership styles ranges from a loose-rein style to a democratic style. A high score on "Concern for Task" suggests that you tend to have an autocratic leadership style.
So, what does this mean?
Democratic Leadership Style
The democratic (also called group) leadership style is: The leader shares the problem with the relevant team members as a group. Together they generate and evaluate alternatives and attempt to reach agreement (consensus) on a solution. The leader's role is much like that of chairperson. The leader does not try to influence the group to adopt a solution and is willing to accept and implement any solution that has support of the entire group. The designation gII (instead of g1) is for consistency with the literature regarding leadership.
Autocratic Leadership Style
This is often considered the classical approach. It is one in which the manager retains as much power and decision-making authority as possible. The manager does not consult employees, nor are they allowed to give any input. Employees are expected to obey orders without receiving any explanations. The motivation environment is produced by creating a structured set of rewards and punishments.
On your DAILY WRITING SHEET, Mrs. Zullo should see your numbered list 1-32, your score, and WRITE your leadership style!
